Wǟf Gdōz Vrët (/waːf/ /gdoːz/ [classic] [caterpillar]) is a temperate Town located in the Ëkkuv Moot of the Viceroyalty of Rosid.

The name Wǟf Gdōz Vrët is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Wǟf Gdōz Vrët was founded by Ghreebihn Dharda, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Wǟf Gdōz Vrët has a yearly average temperature of 5°C (41°F), with its average temperature during the summer being an icy 23°C (73°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cold -13°C (9°F). Wǟf Gdōz Vrët receives an average of 176 cm/y (69 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Wǟf Gdōz Vrët covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 5054 m (16581 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Wǟf Gdōz Vrët was founded durring the early 18th century in early spring of the year 1747, by Ghreebihn Dharda. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Ghreebihn Dharda.

Wǟf Gdōz Vrët was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the early 18th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Wǟf Gdōz Vrët is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Wǟf Gdōz Vrët is buildings are arranged arrounded highly ordered system of premissive cobblestone streets which form hexical paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The town has a fortified albit thin brick wall. The wall has most of the feeatures of a typical castle wall, just on a much smaller scale and and budget. Notably brick isn't a particuarly soild choice for resisting siege weapons. Wǟf Gdōz Vrët's wall wouldn't hinder a proper army, but it is more than sufishent for bandits and other small marauding groups. The town's monster and outlaw focused fortifications are visibly old, but also obviously well maintained. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with routine mantance of the town's defences.

A look around Wǟf Gdōz Vrët has something terribly wrong with it. It’s impossible to put one’s finger on, but something is horribly wrong. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scuttling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Maybe it’s all of those things together, or perhaps it's the way these elements combine with the simple fact that it is abundantly clear Wǟf Gdōz Vrët suffered something horrible some time ago. It's as if the town itself is depressed. Smiles are few, cheer is nowhere to be had. Everyone quietly goes about their daily business not looking anyone in the eye. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in Wǟf Gdōz Vrët long.

Civic Infrastructure

Wǟf Gdōz Vrët has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Wǟf Gdōz Vrët. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Wǟf Gdōz Vrët's parks.

Wǟf Gdōz Vrët has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Wǟf Gdōz Vrët.

They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Wǟf Gdōz Vrët's natural decorations nor waterways.

Wǟf Gdōz Vrët has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Wǟf Gdōz Vrët has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Wǟf Gdōz Vrët's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by towering round arches, massive stone and brickwork, small windows, thick walls, and a propensity for housing art and sculpture depicting mythological scenes. The building's general shape would be a clever and ascetic combination of geometric shapes, which would be blended together by joining elements. The style's decorative features were largely internal rather than external and incorporated semicircular arches for windows, doors, and arcades; barrel or groin vaults to support the roof of the nave; massive piers and walls, with few windows, to contain the outward thrust of the vaults; side aisles with galleries above them..

In Wǟf Gdōz Vrët the utterance of expletives is impossible within city limits. This has changed as the limits have changed, but has not kept up with slang, or swearing in foreign languages.
